- · These two were very vibrant ministries in the first decade of their existence. There were many boys and girls who joined as members. Some came from other churches.
- · In the late 1970s the Boys’ Brigade company was faced with lack of officers. This continued into 1980. Mr Gacece was handling the company alone until he got the help of Mr. William Kithara, The National Brigade Organiser (Boys’ Brigade Kenya) and Mr. A.Savonge the Chief Instructor from the Kenya Red Cross Society, Nairobi Branch. These two gentlemen devoted their time to be with Solomon and the boys every Wednesday evening between 5.00 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. The number of boys then was 35.
- · The Girls’ Brigade was preceded by a sister organization -The 27th St Andrew’s Girl Guides & Brownies Company, Nairobi. This company had 16 girl guides and 19 brownies under the leadership of Mrs. Kamau, Mary Muthigani and Nyambura Wa Gichuru. Historically, the Brigade was founded before the Boy Scouts and Girl Guide Movements.
